2024 – Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center

Philadelphia, PA

Winner - 2024 ASBA Indoor Sports Surfaces Multi-Purpose Gymnasium Facility of the Year

Philadelphia’s new Alan Horwitz Sixth Man Center isn’t just another gym — it’s a statement about the future of basketball training and community development.

Located on the University City campus, the state-of-the-art facility serves as a dedicated practice and performance space for Drexel University’s men’s and women’s basketball programs. Designed with precision, the Sixth Man Center brings together technology, craftsmanship, and player-focused design to create an environment built for elite performance.

Behind the build, Jaypro Sports provided the foundation for the court’s functionality and safety.

The facility features ceiling-hung basketball backstops and height adjuster systems engineered for smooth operation and long-term reliability. Custom wall padding — complete with Drexel’s bold graphics — protects players while adding visual energy to the space. Portable basketball systems and Tip-N-Roll bleachers round out the setup, ensuring versatility for practices, events, and community use.

“Facilities like the Sixth Man Center highlight the importance of equipment built to perform as hard as the athletes using it,” said a Jaypro Sports representative. “From ceiling systems to wall padding, every piece we manufacture is designed for strength, safety, and visual impact.”

The Alan Horwitz Sixth Man Center represents more than just a training venue — it’s a symbol of Drexel’s commitment to player development, safety, and excellence. Through partnerships with manufacturers like Jaypro Sports, the project reflects how thoughtful design and quality equipment can elevate both performance and pride.
